You pick a beach, paddle out into chunky pixel waves, and try not to eat it while pulling off basic tricks. The controls are simple—just a couple buttons—but nailing the timing between jumps and turns feels oddly satisfying.
It’s definitely janky by today’s standards, but there’s something charming about the way the surfer sprite wobbles when you lose balance, or how the waves look like they’re made of Lego bricks. The music’s got that upbeat, slightly tinny GBC vibe that’ll either annoy you or get stuck in your head for days.
Not gonna lie, it’s more of a novelty than a deep experience, but if you’ve ever wanted to pretend you’re shredding waves during a boring bus ride, this does the trick. The sun-bleached color palette alone makes it feel like a forgotten summer vacation.
