Play Unnatural Selection Online
You mix mutant soup in a grimy lab, chuck your freaky creations into battle, and cackle when the six-legged acid-spitter finally wins after five generations of blobby disasters.

Unnatural Selection came out in 1993 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games series, developed by Maxis Software. It was one of those oddball titles from the early '90s that didn't fit neatly into any genre, a time when developers were willing to experiment with strange concepts and see what stuck.
You play as a genetic engineer tasked with creating mutant organisms to defend a base from waves of enemy creatures. The core of the game involves splicing together different animal parts, testing your creations in real-time battles, and refining your designs based on which mutants survive. You manage a limited budget for gene sequencing and constantly tweak your monsters' traits, like speed, armor, or attack type. The pacing is methodical, almost like a puzzle, and the difficulty comes from balancing resources while adapting to increasingly tough opponents. It feels like running a chaotic, high-stakes biology experiment where every failure teaches you something new.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
