Game Overview
Urban Champion (JU) [p1] is a barebones NES fighting game where you just punch another guy back and forth across a street. The goal is to knock them into an open manhole—that’s it. No kicks, no combos, just two dudes trading jabs while flower pots occasionally fall from windows.
It’s clunky, even for its time. The controls feel stiff, and the fights drag because you’re just waiting for one lucky punch to send the other guy stumbling. The police car gimmick—where you both freeze when it drives by—is funny the first time, then just slows things down.
Urban Champion (JU) [p1] is more of a novelty than a real fighter, something you play once to see how simple early NES games could be.
