Game Overview
Urban Champion (JU) is one of those early NES fighting games that feels more like a tech demo than a full game. You and another guy just stand in the middle of a street, trading punches until someone stumbles backward into a manhole.
The controls are stiff—just left, right, and punch—and the fights drag on longer than they should. Sometimes a flowerpot falls from a window, which is the closest thing to excitement you’ll get. The police car driving by is funny the first time, but it doesn’t change much.
It’s barebones, even for its time. You’ll play a few rounds, realize there’s nothing else to it, and move on. Urban Champion (JU) is more of a curiosity than something you’d actually want to revisit.
