Urban Champion came out for the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1984, developed and published by Nintendo. It was one of the earlier titles for the console, a straightforward fighting game that felt more like a tech demo than a full-fledged experience compared to what would come later.

You control one of two street fighters, trading punches on a single city block. The goal is to knock your opponent backward off the screen, either into a manhole or past the edge of the sidewalk. You can throw left and right punches, and sometimes a flowerpot drops from an apartment window above, which you can pick up and throw for extra damage. The pacing is slow, almost methodical, and the controls are stiff, making every hit feel deliberate. It’s a repetitive, almost hypnotic experience that feels more like a quirky experiment than a polished game.
