Game Overview

Varia Metal is one of those classic arcade shooters where you just pick up and blast away. You play as either Grey or Atuja—no character select, just plug in a second controller if you want co-op—and dive straight into dodging bullet hell while shooting back at the Ocayea Empire’s forces. The green power-ups are your best friend; grab enough and your shots go from peashooter to screen-filling chaos.

There’s a neat little twist where holding fire charges a laser that clears swarms in one go, but timing it right takes practice. The bosses are big, loud, and exactly the kind of spectacle you’d expect from an arcade cabinet. It’s not reinventing the genre, but sometimes you just want to weave through enemy fire with a friend and watch everything explode.
