Play Virtual Bart (Europe) Online

You control Bart through a series of bizarre mini-games—one moment you're a mutant tomato rolling through a lab, the next you're chucking groceries as a toddler. The janky controls and absurd challenges feel ripped straight from a Simpsons fever dream.

Game Overview

Virtual Bart came out in 1994 for the Super Nintendo, developed by Sculptured Software. It was one of those licensed games that felt very much of its time, a weird side-scroller that tried to cash in on the show's popularity without much of a coherent vision.

You play as Bart Simpson through a disconnected set of mini-games, each with its own strange rules. In one stage, you control a rolling mutant tomato, avoiding hazards in a laboratory. In another, you play as a baby Bart throwing food in a supermarket, aiming for shopping carts. There's no overarching story; you just jump from one surreal scenario to the next. The controls are often slippery and unresponsive, which, combined with some cheap enemy placement, makes progress feel more frustrating than fun. It's a game that feels as chaotic and disjointed as a channel-surfing session gone wrong.
