Oh man, Les Visiteurs on Game Boy Color—what a weird little time capsule. You get to play as Godefroy, this clueless medieval knight who somehow ends up in modern France, stumbling through traffic, getting freaked out by phones, and generally causing chaos with his equally clueless squire. The pixel art somehow nails the movie’s ridiculous energy, especially when they’re flailing around in panic.
It’s part platformer, part puzzle game, and all absurdity. One minute you’re trying to figure out how a vending machine works, the next you’re getting chased by angry townsfolk. The dialogue’s in French, but even if you don’t speak it, the exaggerated expressions and physical comedy come through. My favorite part? When Godefroy tries to "fight" a car like it’s some kind of metal dragon.
Definitely rough around the edges, but that almost adds to the charm. If you’ve seen the movie, it’s a hilarious little tribute. If you haven’t… well, you’ll still have a good time watching these two idiots bumble through the 20th century.
