Wacky Racers came out for the NES in 1991, published by Atlus. It was one of those late-era licensed games that tried to capture the spirit of the Hanna-Barbera cartoon, but on hardware that was starting to show its age. You don't get the full cast of racers, just a handful, which was pretty typical for cartridge limits back then.

You control one of the show's characters, like Dick Dastardly or Muttley, in a race across several themed stages. The main goal is just to finish first, but you spend most of your time bouncing off walls and other racers. The controls are floaty, and the jumps feel wobbly, which makes landing properly a constant challenge. You can also use items, like dropping oil slicks or throwing bombs, to slow down opponents. It's not a difficult game in terms of length, but the slippery physics can make simple turns frustrating. Getting through a race without spinning out feels like a genuine accomplishment.
