It was part of that era where developers were still figuring out how to use the dual screens in interesting ways, and this one definitely took a swing at it. You control one of several anime-inspired characters, each with their own exaggerated weapon, like a giant umbrella or a massive anchor. The main goal is to beat your opponent by knocking their health bar down to zero, but the real twist is the arena. The fight happens across both screens, with characters able to jump from the bottom screen to the top. A big part of the strategy is launching opponents upward to continue combos on the upper screen, or using special attacks that cover vertical space. The pacing is fast and a bit chaotic, with a focus on aerial combos and screen positioning over precise inputs. It feels like a playful, slightly unrefined experiment that fully embraces the weird potential of the DS.
