Wings 2 - Aces High throws you right into the cockpit of a WWI biplane, and honestly, it’s a blast. You pick one of five Allied pilots—each with their own quirks—and dive into 20 missions that’ll have you bombing bridges, strafing trenches (with way too much ammo, which is great), and dueling enemy aces in chaotic dogfights. The Red Baron’s waiting at the end, and he’s not messing around.
It plays a lot like the first Wings game, but that’s not a bad thing. The missions are straightforward—spot the circled targets, wreck them, then survive the swarm of enemy planes trying to shoot you down. Mess up, and your pilot might get booted or worse. Succeed, and you can boost their skills, making them sharper in the air or tougher in a scrap.
It’s got that classic SNES charm—simple but satisfying, with just enough tension to keep you white-knuckling the controller. The final showdown with the Baron? Totally worth the grind.
