Wipeout 2 came out on the Nintendo DS in 2011, developed by Behaviour Interactive. It was part of that wave of games based on TV game shows, which felt pretty common on handhelds at the time. You don't see many of those licensed titles around anymore, but this one tried to capture the physical comedy of the show in a portable format.
You control a contestant racing through obstacle courses filled with moving hazards, like giant red balls and spinning arms. The main goal is to reach the end of each stage without falling into the water below. Key mechanics include timing your jumps across narrow beams, dodging sudden obstacles, and occasionally balancing on unstable platforms. The game moves quickly, and the difficulty spikes noticeably in later levels, where precision becomes essential. It feels silly and frantic, especially when you misjudge a jump and your character goes tumbling off the course.
