Play Wolfenstein 3D Online
You’re B.J. Blazkowicz, sneaking through Nazi prison corridors with just a knife, grabbing guns off dead guards while SS officers hunt you down. The maze-like levels hide secrets, and bosses like Hans Grosse force you to learn their patterns or die.

Wolfenstein 3D on the GBA is a stripped-down but surprisingly solid port of the granddaddy of first-person shooters. You play as B.J. Blazkowicz, busting out of a Nazi prison with nothing but a knife and a lot of angry guards between you and freedom. The levels are these tight, maze-like corridors packed with enemies—some dumb grunts, some terrifying SS officers who never miss a shot—and you’re scrambling for medkits and better guns the whole time.
The first episode (free back in the shareware days) throws you right into the chaos: sneaking past guards, finding hidden push walls, and eventually facing off against Hans Grosse in a boss fight that feels impossible until you memorize his pattern. Later episodes ramp up the insanity—mutant soldiers, robotic Hitler, the whole Nazi nightmare buffet. The Nocturnal Missions add a prequel storyline with chemical warfare twists, but honestly, it’s all about the core loop: blasting through rooms, hearing those pixelated enemy yells, and praying you find the exit elevator before running out of ammo.
Weapons are simple—pistol, machine gun, chaingun—but each one *feels* weighty, especially when you’re cornered by a pack of dogs or an officer who won’t stop shooting. The GBA version loses some visual detail, but the tension’s still there: turning a corner and seeing a room full of SS troopers is pure panic. And yeah, you’ll die a lot. Extra lives are rare unless you’re a completionist hunting secrets or speedrunning levels.
It’s clunky by modern standards, but there’s something raw and satisfying about how straightforward it is. You shoot Nazis, you find keys, you survive. That’s the deal.
