World Destruction League: Thunder Tanks is exactly what it sounds like—a ridiculous, over-the-top tank battler where everything explodes and nothing is sacred. You pick one of 12 lunatics in tricked-out war machines and blast your way through post-apocalyptic wastelands, because apparently, the future’s idea of entertainment is watching people level entire cities for sport.
The arenas are gloriously chaotic, with crumbling buildings, radioactive craters, and whatever else the devs could cram into a Game Boy Color cartridge. I spent way too much time just testing which weapons caused the most collateral damage (the nuke launcher never gets old). There’s something weirdly satisfying about lining up a shot just right and watching the whole screen shake as your opponent’s tank flips end-over-end into a pit.
It’s not deep, but it doesn’t need to be—sometimes you just want to drive a tank through a wall and leave a trail of fire behind you. If that sounds like your kind of stupid fun, this game delivers.
