You control a small, green tank, navigating maze-like battlefields to destroy enemy vehicles and protect your base from destruction. The main objective is to clear each screen of all enemy tanks while defending a stationary eagle icon that serves as your headquarters; if it gets destroyed, the game ends. Signature mechanics include the ability to collect power-ups that upgrade your cannon and speed, the option to play with a friend in cooperative two-player mode, and facing large, screen-filling boss tanks at the end of certain stages. The pacing is relentless, with enemy tanks spawning quickly and often cornering you, demanding constant movement and sharp shooting.
