Game Overview

K-1 Tank drops you straight into the Gulf War, controlling a hunk of steel with way more firepower than you’d expect from a DOS game. The first thing you’ll do is pick your tank—I went with the M1A1 because, well, it’s an Abrams—then load up on ammo. Heat rounds chew through infantry, but APFSDS is your best bet for punching holes in enemy armor. Choose wrong, and you’ll regret it when a T-72 shrugs off your shots.

Missions start simple—blow up a few bunkers, clear a convoy—but things escalate fast. You’re constantly switching between the cramped cockpit view for driving and the machine gun for swatting pesky helicopters. The main cannon’s zoom is weirdly satisfying once you get the hang of leading shots. One wrong move, though, and it’s game over. No respawns, just a burning wreck and your pride in pieces.

It’s janky in that classic early-’90s way, but the tension holds up. Nothing beats barely surviving a mission with your treads shot off, crawling back to the debrief screen just to see what medal you scraped together. If you’ve got a soft spot for retro military sims, this one’s worth dusting off.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
