Game Overview

Magnetik Tank is one of those games from the MS-DOS Classic Games collection that feels plucked right out of the era's experimental spirit. I don't recall the developer offhand, but it fits perfectly alongside other late 80s or early 90s titles that prioritized a single, clever mechanic over sprawling complexity. It was the kind of game you'd find on a shareware disk, unassuming but immediately gripping once you booted it up.

You control a small, blocky tank navigating maze-like levels filled with enemy tanks and their projectiles. Your main tool is a polarity switch that either attracts or repels incoming bullets and foes. The objective is simply to survive and clear each screen. Timing is everything; a mistimed attract pull can drag a hail of fire directly into you, while a well executed repel sends threats careening into walls. The pacing is relentless, and the difficulty spikes quickly, demanding sharp reflexes and strategic use of your magnetic field. It feels like conducting a chaotic, destructive orchestra where you are both the target and the maestro.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
