Play Wrath of the Black Manta (Rev A) Online
You play as a ninja tossing shurikens and slashing through enemies, but the stiff jumps make pit sections way harder than they should be. Between the action, you’re rescuing kids in awkward cutscenes—it’s weird, but kinda memorable.

Game Overview
Wrath of the Black Manta is one of those NES games that looks cooler than it plays at first glance. You control a ninja—well, technically a "Black Manta"—who jumps, slashes, and throws shurikens through side-scrolling levels packed with enemies. The sprites are decent for 1989, but the controls feel a little stiff, especially when you're trying to land precise jumps over pits.
What stands out is the weird mix of ninja action and occasional cutscenes where you rescue kidnapped kids (yeah, that’s the plot). Some stages throw in forced-scrolling sections that ramp up the frustration, and the bosses can be brutal if you don’t figure out their patterns fast. Not the best NES ninja game, but it’s got a certain charm if you’re into obscure retro action.
