If you grew up mashing buttons to Hulk Hogan's theme music, WWF King of the Ring on NES will feel weirdly familiar. It's got all the big names โ Hogan, Macho Man, Undertaker โ though they all kinda fight the same way. No signature moves here, just a lot of elbow drops and turnbuckle jumps that somehow feel satisfying when you're 10 years old.
What's cool is the create-a-wrestler mode (I spent way too long making 'The Pizza Destroyer' with maxed-out strength). The roster's decent, though Bam Bam Bigelow and Undertaker mysteriously vanish if you're playing the GameBoy version. Tag teams and the King of the Ring tournament add some variety, but let's be real โ you're mostly here to body slam your little brother while Razor Ramon's theme plays on loop.
