I picked up xXx (F)(Patience) for the Game Boy Advance back when it came out, a licensed game based on the Vin Diesel movie. It was one of those early 2000s tie-ins that tried to cram a blockbuster action movie onto a handheld screen, developed by Mistic Software and published by TDK Mediactive. The GBA had a lot of these quick, rough adaptations; they were never the system's highlights, but they had a certain charm if you were a fan of the source material.

You control Xander Cage, an extreme sports athlete turned government agent, moving through side-scrolling levels punching and kicking generic enemies. The main goal is to complete missions by fighting through waves of foes, occasionally hopping on a motorcycle for awkward driving sections that break up the action. Combat is simple, with basic combos and a special move or two, while the bike sequences require navigating obstacles and timing jumps. The pacing is uneven, and the difficulty can spike unexpectedly due to clunky controls. Playing it feels like wrestling with a game that's trying too hard to be cool but never quite gets there.
