Play Yie Ar Kung-Fu (Japan) (Rev 1.4) Online
Pick a fighter and brawl through janky but charming arcade-style duels—boomerangs, whips, and sliding noodles included. Stiff controls, but landing that perfect jump kick feels so good.

Yie Ar Kung-Fu came out on the NES in 1985, developed and published by Konami. It was one of the earlier fighting games on the system, arriving well before the genre exploded in popularity. You pick a fighter and face a series of opponents in one-on-one martial arts matches, screen by screen.
You control a martial artist named Oolong, moving left and right to dodge and strike. The goal is to defeat all eleven opponents to become the grand champion. Signature mechanics include a variety of special moves, like high and low kicks, and projectiles such as boomerangs that some characters throw. The pacing is fast, and the difficulty ramps up quickly as enemies become more aggressive and harder to read. It feels stiff by today's standards, but landing a well-timed jump kick or avoiding a surprise attack delivers a genuine sense of accomplishment.
