You hop on Yoshi’s back—first-person view, which is bizarre for a Mario game—and blast through Jewelry Land with the Super Scope. Bowser’s kids stole all the shiny stuff, so you’re basically playing a glorified Koopa shooting gallery.
It’s simple but weirdly satisfying: enemies pop up, you zap them before they throw stuff at you, and sometimes you stumble into hidden areas by shooting random gates. The bosses are the best part—big, screen-filling jerks that take way too many hits. Oh, and if you’ve got a buddy, you can team up in two-player mode, though good luck finding a second Super Scope these days.
