Play Ys V - Ushinawareta Suna no Miyako Kefin Online
Adol’s back, but now you’ve gotta actually swing your sword instead of just bumping into enemies—time your blocks, mix magic orbs, and try not to get lost in the desert. The jumping feels janky, but grinding separate EXP for sword and spells keeps things fresh.

Game Overview
Ys V takes Adol Christin—that red-haired adventurer you either love or find weirdly endearing—into the deserts of Afroka, where rumors of a lost city and its treasure swirl like the sandstorms. This time, the combat ditches the series' signature "just ram into enemies" approach for something closer to a proper action RPG. You’ll actually swing your sword with a button press, block attacks if you time it right, and even toss in some magic if you’ve collected the right elemental orbs.
It’s a little clunky by today’s standards, but back then, jumping (yes, jumping!) and mixing spells felt like a big deal. The magic system’s neat—you combine orbs to unlock new abilities, and the game keeps separate EXP tracks for swordplay and spellcasting, so you can’t just brute-force your way through.
There’s also an "expert" version floating around with beefed-up enemies and an extra dungeon, if the original wasn’t punishing enough. Honestly, it’s not the strongest Ys game, but there’s something charming about its rough edges and that SNES-era attempt at something new.
