Play Yu-Gi-Oh! GX - Spirit Caller (FireX) (EU) Online
You’re a new student at Duel Academy, scraping together cards between classes and getting stomped by smug upperclassmen until your deck finally clicks. The touchscreen makes shuffling through combos feel way better than it should.

If you're into Yu-Gi-Oh! and missed this one on the DS, Spirit Caller’s actually a solid pick. You start off at Duel Academy—basically Hogwarts but with trading cards—and the whole thing plays out like an RPG where every conversation leads to another duel. The deck-building’s fun because you’re constantly tweaking it after getting wrecked by some random student who swears by Toon monsters.
What I like is that it doesn’t just throw you into endless battles—there’s a story here, even if it’s cheesy in that classic GX way. Jaden’s around, Chazz does his thing, and yeah, you’ll probably groan at some of the dialogue. But the dueling? Smooth as hell on the DS. The touchscreen makes navigating cards way less clunky than you’d expect.
Fair warning: the AI loves pulling ridiculous combos out of nowhere, so don’t be surprised if you lose three times in a row to a guy running a 60-card pile. Still, when your janky deck finally clicks and you pull off some stupidly satisfying comeback? That’s the good stuff.
