I first played The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past on the Super Nintendo in 1991. It was developed and published by Nintendo, and it felt like a huge step up from the NES games. The world was bigger, the colors were brighter, and everything just clicked into place.
You control Link, a boy tasked with rescuing Princess Zelda and stopping the evil wizard Agahnim. The main goal is to explore the Light and Dark Worlds, find items in dungeons, and collect the pieces of the Triforce. You fight with a sword and shield, use a bow and arrows, and solve puzzles that often require switching between the two versions of Hyrule. The pacing is deliberate, and some dungeons are genuinely tough. It feels like a complete, thoughtful adventure from start to finish.
