Play Famicom Mini 25 : The Legend of Zelda 2 : Link no Bouken Online

Zelda 2 throws you into side-scrolling battles where you actually need to level up your sword skills—mess up and some random moblin will wreck you until you grind enough to fight back properly. That weird mix of RPG leveling and classic Zelda exploration makes every dungeon crawl feel earned.

Game Overview

Famicom Mini 25: The Legend of Zelda 2 – Link no Bouken is that weird, tough cousin of the Zelda series, and honestly? I love it for that. You start off thinking it’ll be like the first game, but nope—suddenly you’re side-scrolling through dungeons, leveling up stats like an RPG, and hunting down spells in towns. The first time I got wrecked by a random enemy because I hadn’t grinded enough, I almost threw my GBA. But then I came back, stronger, and it felt amazing.

It’s janky in places (good luck with the knockback), but that’s part of the charm. The music slaps, the magic system is oddly satisfying once you figure it out, and there’s something about the pixel art that just feels cozy now. Just don’t expect it to hold your hand—this is the kind of game where you earn every victory. Still one of my favorite Zelda experiments, warts and all.
