Game Overview

Man, Link Dragon on the Genesis is one of those games I stumbled onto years ago and never forgot. You play as this chunky pixel dragon—not some elegant beast, but a proper fire-spitting tank—and you’re just barreling through caves and ruins, tail-whipping skeletons and roasting weird little goblins. The controls feel solid, like your dragon actually has weight to it, which makes dodging traps or timing jumps way more satisfying than it has any right to be.

The levels get wild fast—one minute you’re in a crumbling temple, the next you’re swimming through underground lakes dodging piranha monsters. And the bosses? Huge, screen-filling beasts that take forever to whittle down, but when you finally toast them, it’s pure 16-bit catharsis. It’s got that old-school difficulty where you’ll die a lot, but never unfairly—just the kind of game that makes you mutter "one more try" at 2 AM.

If you’ve got a soft spot for forgotten Genesis bangers, this one’s a blast. Feels like someone mashed up Golden Axe and a lost Zelda dungeon, then tossed in a dragon because why not.
