Dragoneer's Aria came out for the PlayStation Portable in 2007, developed by Hit Maker and published by NIS America. It was one of those mid-lifecycle PSP RPGs that tried to blend classic exploration with some newer ideas, landing in a space between traditional dungeon crawlers and more experimental titles of the era.

You control Valen, a new Dragoon graduate whose ceremony is interrupted by a sudden dragon attack. From there, you explore the world screen by screen, fighting monsters in real time with a sword or bow, and delving into dungeons to uncover the cause of the chaos. Two key mechanics stand out: the orb system, which lets you customize your elemental attacks and defenses, and the need to manage your party's health and magic carefully between save points. The pacing is deliberate, sometimes slow, and the difficulty can spike in certain areas, especially if you haven't grinded enough. It feels like a mix of cautious planning and moment to moment action, where every enemy encounter demands your attention.
