Play Zone of the Enders : The Fist of Mars Online
You pilot a stolen mech in a Martian rebellion, timing your attacks in turn-based fights that feel more hands-on than they should on a GBA. Swap parts between missions while political drama unfolds around your ragtag squad.

Zone of the Enders: The Fist of Mars is one of those GBA games that feels way bigger than it has any right to be. You’re thrown into this messy interplanetary war between Earth and its colonies, playing as some unlucky guy who stumbles into a prototype combat mech (called an L.E.V.) and gets dragged into the rebellion on Mars.
The combat’s turn-based but with a twist—when you attack or defend, you’ve got this weird timing minigame where you line up crosshairs for critical hits or dodge enemy fire. Took me a mission or two to get the hang of it, but nailing a perfect shot on an enemy’s weak point feels ridiculously satisfying. And yeah, you can turn it off if you just want to auto-resolve fights, but where’s the fun in that?
Between missions, you’re tweaking your squad of mechs—swapping weapons, balancing stats like accuracy vs. raw firepower, or slapping on armor you scavenged mid-battle. The customization’s not super deep, but it’s enough to make your favorite L.E.V. feel like yours. Just don’t get too attached—some of these fights get brutal.
It’s a solid side-story if you’re into mechs or tactical RPGs, even if it plays nothing like the main Zone of the Enders games. The pixel art’s crisp, the story’s got that classic early-2000s anime melodrama, and the soundtrack goes harder than it needs to.
