Play Zool on GB Online

You play as a hyper little alien ninja zipping through chaotic levels—wall-jumping, blasting enemies with finger guns, and leaving behind shadow clones of yourself. The controls feel slippery at first, but once you get the rhythm, you’re bouncing off walls like a caffeinated gremlin.

Game Overview

Zool on the Game Boy came out in 1993 from Gremlin Interactive, a time when platformers were everywhere on the handheld. It was a port of the Amiga game, trying to bring that fast, colorful style to the small screen. You controlled a ninja from the Nth Dimension, which was a pretty common setup for the era.

You guide Zool through side scrolling levels, jumping on platforms and shooting enemies with your finger guns. The main goal is just to get to the end of each stage, fighting bosses and collecting things like health and power ups. The game is known for its speed and its wall jumping mechanic, which lets you climb vertical sections by bouncing between surfaces. It can be pretty tough, with some slippery controls and enemies that come at you quickly. Playing it feels like trying to keep up with a cartoon that's moving just a little too fast for you.
