Game Overview

Zool on the Sega Master System is like mainlining pure '90s platformer energy—bright colors, weird enemies, and a ninja who moves like he’s had three cups of coffee. The first level drops you straight into this candy-coated alien world where you’re bouncing off marshmallow platforms and slicing up walking gumball machines. It’s got that same "gotta go fast" vibe as Sonic, but with way more neon and a soundtrack that sounds like a rave in a cartoon universe.

The controls take a second to click—Zool slides around a bit at first, but once you get the hang of his wall jumps and air dashes, it feels surprisingly smooth for an 8-bit port. And yeah, it’s tough. You’ll miss a jump, curse, then immediately hit continue because that next checkpoint is right there. The Master System version cuts a few corners compared to the Amiga original, but it’s still packed with that same chaotic charm. Perfect for when you want something faster and weirder than your average retro platformer.
