I picked up 3 Game Pack! Mouse Trap Simon Operation on Game Boy Advance back when it came out. It was one of those compilations from Majesco that brought classic board game and toy experiences to the handheld. It fit right in with the GBA's library of quick, pick-up-and-play titles you could enjoy in short bursts.

You don't control a character so much as you manage the games directly. In Operation, you use the D-pad and buttons to carefully remove ailments with the tweezers, trying to avoid the sides. Simon has you repeating increasingly long sequences of lights and sounds by pressing the corresponding colored buttons. Mouse Trap tasks you with building the elaborate contraption and then setting it off to catch your opponent's mouse. The pacing is deliberate, demanding focus and a steady hand, especially in Operation where one slip costs you. It feels like a direct, slightly janky translation of those physical childhood games into a digital space.
