Play 7th Saga Online
Choose one of seven characters and explore a challenging world, battling rivals and grinding through dungeons to collect seven runes in this turn-based RPG.
I first played 7th Saga on the Super Nintendo back in 1993, a game developed by Produce and published by Enix. It came out during a time when the SNES was full of ambitious, sometimes experimental RPGs, and this one definitely carved its own niche. You don't hear about it as much as some other titles from that era, but it has a very particular, memorable presence.
You choose one of seven unique characters, like a knight or a demon, and then set out to find seven runes before the other six potential rivals do. The exploration is methodical, screen by screen, with random encounters that can be unforgiving if you're under-leveled. Combat is turn-based, letting you attack, use magic, or attempt to flee, but the difficulty, especially in the North American release, forces a lot of grinding in those dungeons. It feels like a slow, deliberate test of patience where every bit of progress is earned through persistence.
