Play Abyss Online
Guide a ball through 4 maze levels, avoiding enemies, traps, and shifting blocks. Use switches to unlock paths. Lose lives by falling off. Released in 1987 for Amiga.
Abyss came out for the Amiga in 1987, developed by Kingsoft and published by Free Spirit Software. It was one of those early puzzle games that felt right at home on the platform, where simple concepts often got interesting twists. You didn't see a lot of games built entirely around guiding a ball through a maze back then, but this one made it work.
You control a glowing orb through four maze-like levels, each filled with enemies, traps, and shifting blocks. Your main goal is to navigate each screen, avoiding hazards and using switches to open new paths. If you fall off the edge or get hit, you lose a life. The pacing is deliberate, and the difficulty ramps up quickly as you learn to time your movements and anticipate block shifts. It feels tense but satisfying when you finally clear a tricky section.
