Game Overview
Advance Guardian Heroes is basically the GBA love letter to the Sega Saturn classic, but with its own twist. You still get that same chaotic beat 'em up energy—mashing buttons as your little pixel warrior plows through hordes of enemies—but the controls feel tighter, more responsive. The first time I played, I accidentally triggered a ridiculous combo and sent three guys flying off-screen. That’s when it clicked for me.
It’s got that same branching path system from the original, so you can replay levels and stumble into totally different fights. I went left once and wound up in this weird underground arena full of armored skeletons instead of the forest path. No regrets.
If you’ve played the Saturn version, you’ll notice some changes (no six-player madness here), but it’s still pure Guardian Heroes at heart—just portable. Perfect for when you need to punch demons on the go.
