Game Overview

Agravation came out in 1996 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games collection, a release from Atari Games that bundled several older titles for the PC. It was a digital adaptation of a classic board game, fitting right into that era when many physical games were finding a second life on computer screens. You didn't need a powerful machine; it ran on the systems people had at the time, offering a straightforward, no-frills kind of fun.

You control a colored marble, moving it around a star-shaped board by rolling dice, with the goal of getting all your pieces from your home base to the center. The main challenge comes from other players, human or AI, who can land on your space and send your piece all the way back to the beginning. You also have to navigate shortcuts and avoid traps that can halt your progress. The game moves at a deliberate pace, with each turn feeling significant, and the difficulty spikes noticeably when the AI decides to target you relentlessly. It feels like a tense, sometimes frustrating race where a single bad roll can undo twenty minutes of careful advancement.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
