Aliens: Thanatos Encounter is one of those Game Boy Color games that somehow makes your palms sweat even though the screen is tiny. You start off in some dimly lit space corridor—classic Aliens vibes—and within minutes, you're frantically backpedaling while these creepy Xenomorphs skitter toward you from all directions. The top-down view works surprisingly well, and the sound design nails that "oh crap" feeling when you hear their hisses getting closer.
What I wasn't expecting? How tactical it feels. You can't just spray bullets everywhere because ammo's scarce, and those acid-blooded freaks take a few hits to go down. Sometimes it's better to just run, which really sells the whole "survival horror" thing. The pixel art's moody as hell too—lots of flickering lights and shadowy corners where things love to ambush you. If you grew up with the movies or just love brutally hard retro games, this one's a blast (pun intended). Just don't throw your Game Boy across the room when you die for the tenth time.
