Play Amazing Spider-Man, The (E) Online
Flick the stylus just right to swing between buildings like Spidey—dodge, counterattack, and drop from ceilings to web up thugs before they spot you. The city buzzes with random crimes to stop between cheesy Peter Parker cutscenes.

I picked up The Amazing Spider-Man for the Nintendo DS back in 2007, developed by Vicarious Visions. It was one of those licensed games that came out alongside the movies, and on the DS, you got a side-scrolling take on the web-slinger's world. The hardware wasn't pushing polygons like the consoles, so it leaned into 2D action, which actually worked pretty well for the platform.
You control Spider-Man through a mix of platforming and combat across New York City. The main goal is to stop a series of villains causing chaos, moving through levels that scroll both horizontally and vertically. Signature mechanics include using the stylus to aim and flick webbing for swinging and attacks, along with touch-screen commands for special moves. The pace is brisk, with frequent enemy encounters and some light exploration, though the difficulty can spike during boss fights. It feels responsive and kinetic when the web-swinging clicks, even if some sections get repetitive.
