Hire a motley crew of mercs—some brilliant, some baffling—then try not to panic as your dwarf berserker ignores orders while your lawyer argues with an orc. Real-time battles get messy fast, but smart formations and quick pauses keep the chaos under control.

Ambush at Sorinor came out in 1993 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games lineup, developed by Mindcraft Software. It was one of those fantasy RPGs that felt right at home in the era of pixelated graphics and keyboard-driven gameplay, offering a solid dungeon crawl without a lot of fuss.
You control a party of adventurers, each with distinct skills, and guide them through maze-like dungeons, fighting monsters and hunting for treasure. The game uses screen-by-screen exploration, real-time combat that you can pause to issue commands, and an emphasis on managing your party’s health and resources. It moves at a deliberate pace and can be quite tough, especially when enemies swarm you unexpectedly. Figuring out how to keep everyone alive and coordinated makes each session feel like a tense, rewarding puzzle.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
