Play Amulets & Armor Online
You explore deep 3D dungeons with actual staircases—swinging axes at pixel monsters while hunting for loot or taking shortcuts if you're feeling reckless. That old-school mix of freedom and claustrophobia still hits right.
Amulets & Armor came out in 1997 for MS-DOS, developed by United Software Artists. It was part of that wave of first-person dungeon crawlers that really pushed what you could do with 3D on a home computer at the time, before hardware acceleration became standard. The game didn’t have the biggest marketing push, but it found its audience among players who appreciated its particular blend of exploration and combat.
You control a lone adventurer delving into monster-filled dungeons, screen by screen, with the goal of recovering powerful artifacts. Combat is real-time; you swing your sword or fire your bow directly at enemies, timing your attacks and dodging theirs. The dungeons are multi-level, with stairs and traps to navigate, and you’ll spend a lot of time managing your inventory, swapping gear, and hunting for keys or switches. The pacing is deliberate, and the difficulty can be punishing if you rush in unprepared. It feels tense and absorbing, especially when you’re low on health and deep underground with no easy way out.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
