Play Arachnid (Solitare) Online
Move cards across a web-like board, stack them in order, and clear the tableau in this classic 1991 solitaire game.
Arachnid, released in 1991 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games series, was developed by Tom Simondi. It was one of those quiet, unassuming titles that filled out software catalogs in the early 90s, a time when a simple, well-executed concept was often enough to earn a place on a hard drive. It didn't try to be the next big thing; it was just a solid digital card game for its platform.
You control the cursor to move cards across a spiderweb-like tableau, stacking them in descending numerical order to clear them from the board. The main objective is to remove all the cards by building complete sequences, typically from king down to ace. Its signature mechanics include dealing new rows of cards only when no more moves are possible and the satisfying way completed piles instantly vanish from the web. The pacing is methodical, and the difficulty comes from the limited moves and the luck of the deal. It feels like a calm, focused puzzle that rewards patience and careful observation.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
