Ever play those old-school side-scrollers where you just feel like a badass from the first jump? That’s Assassin on the Amiga. You’re this lone killer dropped into some tyrant’s nightmare bunker, and everything from the music to the way your boomerang weapon snaps back into your hand just clicks.

It’s got that Turrican vibe—tight controls, weirdly satisfying power-ups, and levels that actually make you stop and think before charging in. Midan’s lair isn’t just hallways full of goons; there’s this eerie, almost puzzle-like layout where you’ll backtrack for upgrades or get ambushed from hidden tunnels. And yeah, the boomerang’s fun, but wait till you stumble on the flamethrower.

Five levels might sound short, but each one’s packed with enough traps, mini-bosses, and “oh crap” moments to make it feel like a full arcade cabinet crammed into a floppy disk. The ending’s worth the struggle, too—if you get there.
