ATV Quad Frenzy is one of those DS racing games where the physics actually matter—if you just floor it without thinking, you’ll eat dirt pretty fast. The ATVs bounce and tilt realistically over rough terrain, and landing jumps wrong can send you flipping. But when you nail a big air trick (hold A+B after picking one from the menu), it feels oddly satisfying for a handheld racer.
There’s a decent mix of modes, from quick races to full championship circuits, and the garage lets you tweak your ride’s tires and suspension with the stylus. The upgrades aren’t super deep, but they make a noticeable difference when you’re sliding around muddy corners. Multiplayer’s fun if you’ve got a friend with a copy, though good luck finding someone these days.
It’s not the flashiest racer on the DS, but the handling has just enough weight to keep it interesting. Just don’t expect a ton of tracks—you’ll be replaying the same dirt paths a lot.
