Oh man, Avalon—that old MS-DOS RPG that somehow made typing "go north" feel like an epic journey. You start off picking your class (I always went wizard, even though warriors probably had it easier), and suddenly you're knee-deep in this text-and-simple-graphics world where every choice actually matters. Forget hand-holding—you'll get stuck on some riddle about a talking tree for days, then feel like a genius when you finally figure it out.
The coolest part? How different each playthrough feels depending on whether you're sneaking past guards as a thief or blasting skeletons with spells. Yeah, the graphics are basically colored blocks by today's standards, but back then? That pixelated sword on your inventory screen might as well have been Excalibur. Still holds up if you've got patience for that old-school "save constantly or regret everything" vibe.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
