Game Overview
BACKLASH throws you into this clunky but weirdly immersive turret seat on some beat-up spaceship, and honestly? It’s way more intense than it sounds. You’re stuck in Sector M, this grimy corner of space where the Dirians keep picking fights—your job is to keep freighters and cruisers from getting blown to bits while they haul supplies. The controls take a second to get used to (good luck nailing those diagonal shots at first), but once you do, there’s something satisfying about picking off enemy fighters before they even get close. Just don’t get too cocky—those missions escalate fast.
Also, the pixel explosions when you land a hit? Weirdly gorgeous for MS-DOS. Makes the whole war feel worth it.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
