Play Backyard Basketball (Micronauts) Online
Pick a team of scrappy kids and play messy pickup games where you’ll dodge garden gnomes, bank shots off fences, and pull off ridiculous alley-oops. The tiny courts and weirdly balanced players make every match feel like backyard chaos.
Backyard Basketball was released for the Nintendo DS in 2007 by Humongous Entertainment. It arrived during a period when the handheld was flooded with sports and licensed titles, offering a more casual, cartoonish alternative to the realistic simulations of the era.
You control a team of neighborhood kids, each with exaggerated strengths and weaknesses, playing three-on-three basketball in cluttered, unconventional courts. The main objective is to win matches by outscoring opponents, using the touch screen to aim shots, steal the ball, and execute special moves like turbo bursts or trick passes. Matches are fast and a little sloppy, with obstacles like garden hoses or lawn decorations sometimes interfering with play. It feels like controlling a rowdy, unpredictable playground scrimmage where any shot might bounce off a shed or a tree branch.
