Bad-Bad is one of those MS-DOS games that feels like it was coded in a caffeine-fueled weekend—in the best way possible. You control this little pixel dude (or maybe it's a spaceship? Honestly, it's hard to tell) and just try not to get obliterated by the endless waves of... whatever those enemy sprites are supposed to be. The controls are janky by today's standards, but after a few minutes, you start leaning into the chaos.
What I love is how unapologetically weird it is. One second you're dodging geometric shapes, the next you're picking up power-ups that do who-knows-what until you fire them. The sound effects alone—those crunchy beeps and boops—are pure '90s nostalgia. It's the kind of game where you'll die immediately the first five tries, then suddenly hit a groove and wonder why modern games need tutorials at all.
Definitely play it in DOSBox with keyboard controls for the full experience. Just don't blame me when you lose track of time shouting at your monitor.
