Game Overview

Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance on GBA is basically Diablo but with that sweet Dungeons & Dragons flavor. You pick from three characters—dwarf fighter, human archer, or elven sorceress—and immediately start smacking goblins in some dingy tavern cellar. The controls are simple (just mash attack and occasionally use a potion), but the loot system hooks you fast. Found myself pausing every five minutes to compare swords like "Ooh, +2 fire damage or +1 frost?"

It's impressive how much they crammed into a GBA cart—the lighting effects when spells go off still look decent, and the music nails that Forgotten Realms vibe. Only gripe? Inventory management is a pain with that tiny screen. Still, perfect for bus rides when you just wanna mindlessly cleave through skeletons. The campaign's short but satisfying if you're into retro dungeon crawls.
