Game Overview
Bananaoid is exactly what it sounds like—Breakout, but with a banana. Not a paddle, not a spaceship, just a goofy yellow fruit wobbling at the bottom of the screen while you ricochet a ball into neon bricks. The first time I played, I laughed at how ridiculous it was, but five minutes later I was fully invested in keeping that banana alive.
The physics have that perfect old-school weight to them—the ball speeds up just enough to keep you on your toes, and the banana’s slight wobble makes every near-miss feel dramatic. And the sound effects? Pure MS-DOS charm: tiny boops and bloops that somehow make breaking blocks way more satisfying than it should be.
It’s the kind of game you boot up for "just one level" and suddenly realize you’ve been playing for half an hour. If you miss the days when games didn’t need a 50-hour story to be fun, this one’s still got it.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
