Game Overview

Bassin's Black Bass is one of those SNES fishing games that actually makes you feel like you're out on the water—if you can get past the pixelated graphics. You start by picking your gear (good luck choosing from 20 lures when you have no idea what works) and heading out in your little boat. The radar beeps when fish are nearby, which is weirdly satisfying even though it sounds like a microwave.

Each tournament takes you to new lakes, and some fish only bite in specific spots. The bass fight like crazy—one wrong move and your line snaps. Weather changes things up too; sunny days feel different from rainy ones. Hank Parker’s name is slapped on the box, but honestly, you’ll spend more time arguing with the controls than learning from him. Still, when you finally land a big one after ten failed casts, it’s weirdly rewarding.
